Banana Pudding Recipe

Ingredients
  • 35-45 Nilla Wafers
  • 5-6 medium size ripe bananas sliced
  • 3/four cup sugar divided

  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps
  1. Combine half cup sugar,flour and salt in pinnacle of double boiler. Stir in four egg yolks and milk; combination nicely.
  2. Cook, exposed, over boiling water, stirring constantly; 5 minutes or till thickened. Remove from warmth; stir in vanilla.
  3. Spread small quantity on bottom of one and 1/2 quart casserole dish; cover with layer of nilla wafers. Top with layer of sliced bananas. Continue to layer wafers, bananas and custard to make three layers of each, finishing with custard.  
  4. Now you may stop right here and simply add additional wafers to the pinnacle and enjoy or make a meringue to cover the top through beating the egg whites until stiff however not dry; progressively add last 1/four cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Cover top of pudding unfold to cover whole surface. Bake at 350 levels for 10-12 mins or till barely browned. Cool slightly and consume or refrigerate.
